Perfect Fitment. The Grille CrossLink Lightbar Kit for the 2024+ Toyota Tacoma from Diode Dynamics allows you to mount four linked SS5 LED pods in front of the factory grille. These application-specific brackets were CAD-designed to bolt into place using factory mounting points for straightforward installation.

Designed for Performance. Featuring the highest output intensity of any 5-inch LED pod on the market, these auxiliary lamps have been designed for maximum functionality, with patented technology and custom-engineered TIR optics, all in a durable package.

Selectable Backlight. The SS5 LED Pods included in the White kit feature a selectable backlight with eight different color options, perfect for an extra styling accent, or for more visibility when you’re not using the main beam. Selecting your backlight color is easy - simply alternate the power on and off. There’s no complicated programming with a controller! The SS5's backlight fully illuminates the TIR optic, providing unique accent lighting that you won't find on other LED pods. NOTE: Due to the yellow lens, the Yellow kit is only available with an Amber backlight color.

CrossLink. Our patent-pending CrossLink technology allows you to link up to eight SS5 pods together to create your own lightbar. Unlike other options on the market that use multiple pieces to link pods together, we have designed a single-piece CNC aluminum link. This provides extreme rigidity, but is fully adjustable, for both straight and curved configurations. And thanks to inset threaded mounts built-in to every SS5, there is no need to buy a special linking version of the SS5 for your setup.

Functional Output. Stage Series beam pattern options were designed with advanced optical simulation modeling, to shape the output in highly-functional beam patterns with high efficiency.

Combo pattern combines both the Driving and Flood optics, perfect for all-around use. It shines light downrange in a focused 30x20 Driving beam to punch with distance, and fills in the surrounding area to create a full 70x30 degree pattern. With a row of driving optics in the middle, and a flood optic on the top and bottom, this has been designed to provide extra light for every situation.

White or Yellow. This kit is available in a cool white or selective yellow color. The white is a 6000K color temperature, which is a true cool white output, and matches most factory LED lighting. The selective yellow is a 3000K color temperature, great for high contrast in poor weather or a distinctive look on the road.

Interchangeable Lens. Need a different beam pattern or color? You can swap it yourself! We offer replacement lenses that allow you to change the color or optic of your SS5 Pods.

Sport or Pro. This kit is available at two different power levels. All options use high-intensity LED emitters, and TIR optics for unmatched focus and overall output. The Sport model uses nine high-intensity LEDs for 40W of total power. The Pro model steps things up in a big way, with double the total power at 90W. Snap-on covers. For states that require them, we also offer snap-on covers for your SS5 Pod. These covers are available in a variety of colors and keep your SS5 Pod clean and protected from dirt, dust, or whatever else the road throws your way!

Installation & Instructions

Step 1 - Remove Factory Components

Open the hood and remove the four button clips securing the air intake duct. Use a trim removal tool to push down on the buttons and release the duct. Remove the air intake duct by lifting it out.

Step 2 - Remove the Front Bumper

Using a 10mm socket, remove the three bolts near the air intake duct. Remove two additional push pins with a trim tool, and disconnect the two multi-pin connectors near the passenger-side headlamp. If your vehicle has a front air dam, remove it before proceeding. Next, remove five screws from the driver-side wheel liner using a 10mm socket, and repeat for the passenger side. Use a flathead or trim tool to release the two twist clips in the fender liner. Partially remove the fender flare by squeezing the clips and pulling it outward. Flex the fender flare outward and remove one Phillips head screw to release the bumper panel. Finally, remove the bumper by pulling it away from the vehicle and place it on a padded surface.

Step 3 - Modify the Active Shutter System

With the bumper face down, release the mid support by applying upward pressure to the clips. Remove the three bottom shutters on both sides of the active shutter system using a pick tool to release the pressure snaps. Reinstall the mid support back on the vehicle using a 10mm socket.

Step 4 - Mount the Brackets

Using a 14mm and 17mm socket, remove the bolts on the subframe. Attach the driver-side bracket to the subframe by reusing the 14mm and 17mm bolts, adding the provided washers, and securing them in place. Repeat for the passenger side.

Step 5 - Wire the Harness

Connect the positive and negative battery leads to the corresponding terminals using a 12mm socket. Route the wiring under the headlight and along the subframe, using the included zip tie slots on the brackets to secure the wires. Disconnect the included three-way switch from the harness and tape the ends together. Fish the wire leads through the driver-side firewall grommet and into the cabin, then reconnect the switch.

Step 6 - Reattach the Bumper

Reverse the steps used to remove the bumper, ensuring the DT connector and brackets are properly aligned. Secure the sub-brackets to the inboard side of the main brackets using the included nuts and screws, leaving them hand-tight for now.

Step 7 - Assemble and Mount the SS5 CrossLink Lightbar

Assemble the SS5 CrossLink lightbar by aligning it with the first notch of the hardware. Check out this video for assembly details. Plug the CrossLink harness into each SS5 pod, ensuring the male input lead hangs off the right side. Attach the lightbar to the sub-brackets using the provided screws. Use a bubble level to ensure it is centered laterally and vertically, then secure it in place using a 5mm Allen wrench and a 13mm socket.

The installation is now complete.
